Naked Citizens, total exposure in state surveillance

In Nerds only on May 28, 2013 at 7:08 am

Naked Citizens is a great new documentary about the latest developments in unlawful state surveillance of the public.

This is a must-watch for those concerned and/or curious about how the modern surveillance state ‘criminalizes’ innocent public behaviour.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed, but is it even too late to stand up for our right to privacy from arbitrary surveillance?

Clearly we owe it to our friends and community to practice ‘cyber self defence’.

Somehow I missed the Rogue Weathergirl’s weather report last summer.. ;o)

Thanks to Kai Nagata for this series.

Franke James, Banned in Canada

In Art, Polytricks on May 25, 2013 at 8:33 am

The arrogance and authoritarianism of the HOG (Harper Occupation Government) seems to know no bounds.

Franke James got banned for her art.  Here is her video about how mixing environmentalism and art got her banned.

Her crime?  Calling the Alberta Tar Sands for what it is .. dirty oil.

Here is her video about why the HOG want to shut her up.

I really admire her gutsy fight-back against the worst government Canada has ever seen.

CIA wrote the script of Zero Dark 30

In Polytricks on May 9, 2013 at 7:46 am

Thanks to a freedom of information request we now know that the CIA successfully re-wrote the script of Zero Dark 30.

Anything deemed unflattering to the CIA was willingly removed by Mark Boal, the screenwriter.

I godda say this, Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal are sleazy pimps, selling torture-porn as entertainment.

These clowns are a disgrace to common sense, democracy and the truth.

Nowhere is it explained why it took a decade and gazillions of dollars to actually FIND bin Laden.. pffttt!!

Corporate News bullshit

Great parody of the corporate media 24 hour bullshit cycle.. enjoy!.. ;o)

Can Enbridge be trusted?

In BC Polytricks on May 5, 2013 at 6:53 am

Great short documentary about the endless lies that Enbridge spins to cover up its record of destroying whole communities and the environment.

Enbridge is a major corporate criminal, ask anyone in Kalamazoo, Michigan what happened after their oil sludge pipeline ruptured.

These oil-clowns need to be shut down for good and prosecuted.

They are boardroom pirates.. a gibbet is too good for them!.. pffttt!!

Finfisher caught spoofing Firefox

In Nerds only on May 2, 2013 at 7:25 am

Finfisher is at it again.  The spyware suite has been discovered spoofing the Firefox browser in Malaysia by Citizen Lab.

Firefox is plenty mad about this and has sent a legal cease and desist letter to the creepy spyware manufacturers.

Hats off once again to Citizen Lab for exposing the outrageous invasion of our privacy by the state and corporations.

Clearly the targets of this surveillance are pro-democracy activists, making a mockery out of the claims that this is about ‘police work’.

Congratulations Finfisher, you made on Reporters without Borders list of Corporate Enemies of the Internet.

I would love to see these creeps shut-down for good.. but they obviously have important friends in government.. pfffttt!!

Slave Labour and May Day

In BC Polytricks on May 1, 2013 at 10:00 am

Workers in Canada have been repeatedly stabbed in the back by the Harper Occupation Government.  The ‘Temporary Foreign Worker’ scam is the most glaring example of this.

Apparently 30% of new jobs created in Canada are taken by slave-labourers under the TFW program.. WTF??

The government claims to be ‘reviewing’ the program but labour leaders say that the proposed changes are like “putting lipstick on a pig”.

Its clear that the Harper Occupation Government is all about screwing the Canadian worker by driving their wages into the ditch.

So I guess celebrating workers rights on this May Day might be a bit premature..
