US government has betrayed the internet

In Nerds only on September 6, 2013 at 11:10 am

Great article in The Guardian today regarding the unlawful surveillance of the internet by the USG.  By hacking online encryption the USG has betrayed businesses,  governments and citizens around the world.  This has resulted in a new cold war but on the internet.

On one side we have anarchist groups like Anonymous and whistle-blowers like Assange, Manning and Snowden.  On the other side we have out-of-control USG agencies like the NSA and CIA breaking all recognizable laws to invade our privacy in the name of the all-powerful national security state.  How could this possibly end well?

Grizzly bear hunting ban continues to be ignored

Despite a bear hunting ban being imposed upon the central coast by all native nations, grizzly bear trophy hunting is still going on.  The latest idiot to defy the ban is a racist NHL hockey player who actually walked past a posted sign on native territory to kill a grizzly bear.  Here is a great documentary film released by the central coast native nations to raise awareness about the grotesque nature of the the grizzly hunt.

The Game of Polls

Got a good laugh out of this Rap News spoof of the Oz elections with Julian Assange imitating Oz rock star John Farnham.. (complete with mullet)..  hilarious.

Julian Assange is running for a seat in the Australian Senate, that would allow him diplomatic immunity and allow him to leave the Ecudorian embassy in London (finally).

I sure hope the Auzzies do the right thing and elect him.
